2010 Hurricane Season in Cancun Tourism





For the arrival of 2010 begins the national and international tourists to hotels, beaches, amusement parks and tourist sites of Cancun, Cozumel, Isla Mujeres, Playa del Carmen, Riviera Maya, Tulum and in general for all the Mexican Caribbean and with them are also expected in the tourist area the arrival of tropical cyclones and hurricanes from the Atlantic Ocean.

According to information from the UADY Meterológico Center and Colorado State University, USA, Drs William Gray and Phil Klotzbach determined that the behavior of the hurricane season 2010 in its preliminary version will be above the average behavior of the year and are forecast 11 to 16 tropical cyclones which are 6 to 8 hurricanes, and 3 to 5 of them are in the category 3, 4, and 5 of the Saffir-Simpson scale. The next update of this forecast will be in April 2010.

The tropical cyclone names corresponding to the 2010 season for Cancun, Cozumel, Isla Mujeres, Playa del Carmen, Riviera Maya, Tulum and in general for all the Mexican Caribbean are:

Alex, Bonnie, Colin, Danniel, Leearl, Fiona, Gaston, Hermin, Eigor, Julia, Karl, Lisa, Matthew, Nico, Shary, Tomas, Virginie, Walter.
